Hello Cultural Cheerleaders, in today’s blog we’re talking about the importance of taking breaks from work to rest and recover creatively. I thought for this it would be fun to share a little bit about my recent trip to Disneyland Paris and the benefits of turning off work mode. Let this be your inspiration to book some leave and plan something joyful and immersive for 2025.
NB: I struggled with the structure of this blog, mainly because it doesn’t fit my usual content, however, I ultimately decided that it was a trip I wanted to remember, and this blog serves a purpose as that reminder it’s good to take breaks.
How long were we away and where did we stay?
We stayed on-site at Hotel Cheyenne for 4 nights (5 days), which gave plenty of time to enjoy both Disney parks. The Cheyenne is western themed, so the rooms are decked out like you’re part of woody’s roundup, with Toy Story artwork and decoration. Disney hotels are so Immersive, with high levels of detail spent on setting the scene. Cheyenne is a more reasonably priced hotel, with all the benefits of staying on site such as extra magic hours for the parks, and easy access as they’re so close.

What were our favourite rides?
Damien and I loved trying out the rides, and some of our highlights included:
- Hyperspace Mountain
- Tower of Terror
- Big Thunder Mountain
- Phantom Manor
- Buzz Lightyear, Laser Blast
We got to ride everything we wanted, except for Avengers Flight Force, which we got unlucky with, as it seemed to have a fault whenever we were waiting for it. 🤦♀️
Experiences we enjoyed
The parades and fireworks/ drone shows were another big part of why we chose to go to Disneyland, and they didn’t disappoint. There’s something truly magical about standing by a Disney castle, with your loved one(s) and watching a show together.
We also booked Walts American Diner for our last night at the parks, and everything from the ambiance to the food was perfect. 👌 I loved that old-school Hollywood feel, and the use of photographs from the archives.

Take time to recharge in 2025
Disney is a place where it is easy to reconnect with imagination, fun and creativity. It’s my perfect place to recharge, but it doesn’t have to be Disney, find the places and the people that bring you joy, and book in some time in 2025, to disconnect from the emails and reconnect with creativity.
